SWTOR: Galactic Strongholds

BioWare has announced a new, free digital expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, due to launch in August 2014 (with early access for subscribers slated for June 24th).

Galactic Strongholds will see the long-awaited introduction of player housing. BioWare boasts of “hundreds of unique decorations” to choose from, craftable furniture and promises that players can “display trophies earned in battle”. The trailer features a trooper reminiscing before a gilded statue of Karagga, raising hopes that strongholds will function similarly to the Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars. Players will be able to own multiple strongholds, on Nar Shaddaa as well as their characters’ capital worlds (Coruscant and Dromund Kaas).

Guild flagships and legacy stronghold storage are also on the way with Galactic Strongholds. While, at this stage, BioWare has not announced interguild space combat, they promise more “will be revealed in the coming months”.
